So here they are. The all new Aero Blades from Thule. These newly released load bars replace the original Thule Aero Bars.

At first glance it’s easy to see how the design has been improved. This bar has a much more streamlined “wing” shape to it which will significantly reduce unwanted wind noise.

What you may not notice are the additional features:

WindDiffuser™ is a textured surface on the t-slot cover that disturbs the airflow better than a smooth surface, greatly reducing wind noise.

BoxBeam™ – The sophisticated BoxBeam aluminum extrusion creates one of the strongest load bars in the market. Using a vertical load test, the AeroBlade can sustain over 800 lbf of force.

SmartSlide™ – The new SmartSlide™ is a molded measurement system providing a quick, no-hassle, tapemeasure-free foot installation. SmartSlide™ also covers the underbar slot to improve aerodynamics and noise diffusion.

SwingBlade™ – The new SwingBlade™ end cap pivots open to allow full access to the t-slot for easy accessory installs.

One of the best features however, is the fact that despite the radical difference between the Aeroblade and the Aero Bar, the Aeroblade will still use the existing Rapid Aero foot packs. So the 460R, 480R, 450R and even the now discontinued 430R and 400XTR. So if you have a Rapid Aero Bar set up already and would like to upgrade to the new Aeroblades, you can by simply purchasing the new bars and fitting them to your existing towers.

Although this particular system is a bit more expensive than the basic Thule steel load bar set-up, it is worth noting that over an average year of driving you would typically save the extra $100 or so in cost due to the fuel efficient nature of the Thule Aeroblades. With adding a fairing to the steel bar set-up typically bringing the cost up to around the same mark as the Aeroblade system, it’s easy to see why so many people are already making the choice to go with the Aeroblades.

And hey, why not? They look so much better too!

So come by Rack Attack Vancouver today and see for yourself.

Yakima has two options for putting a roof rack on the Toyota Venza, If however you have a Panoramic roof, you are limited to just the first option

As every one who has tried to buy a factory roof rack for the Toyota Venza should know that Toyota only makes a roof rack for the regular roof option, not the panoramic roof. Fortunatly Yakima make a Rack capable of fitting the Panoramic roof, as well as the regular roof.

The system that Yamika uses with this vehicle is called the Q-Tower, and by using this system with a pair of Yakima Q83 Q clips it is able to clip around the door jams on the Venza without sitting on the glass roof (if you have a Glass roof). Allowing you to carry all the different types of roof top accesorries such as Cargo Baskets/Boxes, Bicycle Racks, Ski/Snowboard Racks, Canoe/Kayak Racks, and miscellaneous Cargo, You would be able to carry up to a total combined weight of 125 pounds, in the Yakima Skybox Pro 18 in the picture above. But depending on what accesories you are carrying the Sunroof may not be able to open.

A Track system with a Thule setup on the Venza

The second option would be a track system for the roof with Yakima Control Towers, which would give you adjustable cross bars front to back making the roof rack more adaptable to your needs. it also comes with a higher weight rating of 165 pounds making it more capable of carrying bigger loads compared to the Q towers. This system is also ideal for longer loads such as boats, kayaks, ladders, etc. Due to the option of having a wider bar spread.

The pictures above was taken at the vancouver store, we also usually have these items in stock and should be able to install it same day.

Today we are looking at the installation of a SportRack Cargo Roof Basket mounted on some Yakima 48 inch Crossbars using the Yakima Q Tower Control Tower Hybrid. The customer came in looking for a way to get a cargo basket on the roof of his Smart car, being how small the Smart car was this was like playing with a micro machine!

Q Smart SportRack Cargo Box

The first step of course is to clean off the areas in which you wish to apply the towers. Once this is accomplished you can now go to work with the measurements and adjustments to placing the towers. Once this is done you can now slip the bars through the towers and lock them into place making sure not to lose your measurements. After this is done you may now place LowRider’s in place going through the same steps with the towers.

Q Smart SportRack Cargo Box

We can see that the bars in place and now can continue with the project by positioning the basket on top of the crossbars. Once in place lock it down to the bars and check to see that everything is connected properly. We now have the Smart car fitted for hauling extra cargo on top.

Hi all, Today we will be viewing the brand new Rack Attack truck in Vancouver with a TracRac Sliding Truck Rack System. We will look at some of the finer points to having this beuaty installed on a truck just like the one in this article.

Rack Attack Truck

I am going to first explain the reason for such a feature on a truck. The TracRac Sliding Truck Rack System is a simple and elegant addition to any pickup. It offers the ability to carry all your tools, ladders, boards, and conduit, you name it. It also offers the ability to attach straps to the side to hang things for ease of use such as rope, cables, extension cords, bungee rope and anything else you can think of that would be handy to have ready to use, opposed to diging through a pile of supplies just thrown into the back of the pick-up.

Sliding rack lock system

Let’s talk tough, what is the TracRac Sliding Truck Rack System capable of carrying. The carrying capacity of this heavy duty rack will support 1,000 lbs, it ads only 77 lbs to your vehicle and is made from a non rust or corrosion rugged aluminum metal. This unique system is better than anyone might think from just looking at it, it offers the ability to slide the rack to any position you require it to. So when you are not needing it’s use, simply just unlock the rack at the back and slide it down the track towards the cabin. Once there just lock it back into place and you are done. It also will install without drilling or bolting on trucks with stake pockets.

TracRac Sliding Rack System

To wrap it all up, if you are interested in investing money into a Truck rack system, this truly is the king of versatility in the rack industry, with it’s many unique features and ability to support kayaks, small boats, and canoes, you are sure to have the entire construction yard gawking over your new found glory.

The TracRac Sliding Rack System

Today we had a customer requiring a hitch for his 2001 Dodge Neon. The hitch we installed came from Drawtite, it is a class one hitch with a towing capacity of 2000 lbs which means it would be suitable for carrying up to 200 lbs on a hitch mounted bike rack. With that capacity we would recommend using a two or three bike hitch rack.

Dodge Neon

The install is reasonably simple, it requires the hitch to be bolted to the frame rail and then two holes drilled into the bumper for another two bolts to be secured.

At Rack Attack we provide a wide range of service for vehicle, most notably the ability to combine many products to get exactly the shape, size and fit you desire for your vehicle. For this particular combo we are demonstrating the Thule LB50 inch load bars, Thule 430 Tracker II Foot Pack and the Thule TK1 tracker kit 1.

Lexus ES 300 w/Thule 430-TK1-LB50

The customer that came into Rack Attack was looking for an installation on their Lexus ES 300; the first thing we had to do was install roof rails for the foot packs to fit into. The one thing about this procedure that I want to mention is that the car itself has a sunroof, so anyone out there looking for a roof rack and curious as to if you can fit one, the answer is yes.

Lexus ES 300 w/Thule 430-TK1-LB50

The kit is easy to install for this model as it comes handy with grey buttons for clip in and out access making it far easier to work with than the non clip on versions which can take up to 1.5 hours. This customer was looking for a rail system to carry Kayaks and as he already had the square bars he went with the Tk1 and 430 to save money.

Lexus ES 300 w/Thule 430-TK1-LB50

The 430R is also aero dynamic for noise resistance and another thing to take note on is that Rack Attack offers a no leak guarantee with installation. Some factory spec notes to take with you; the Thule 430R works exclusively with aluminum load bars and product range fits more vehicle than any other rack manufacturer. The TK1 Tracker kit can be used in unison with either the 430R tracker foot pack or the 430 tracker II foot pack. The 50” load bars provided also have a carrying capacity of up to 165lbs which is great considering you could hook up a Thule 690XT MOAB Basket and load it up with all your camping gear for the summer.

Today we are taking a look at a Yakima Mako Saddle Kayak rack mounted to a Yakima Qtower on a Acura RSK.

This is a very simple yet versatile rack. It fits Yakima, and Thule crossbars. Will fit factory crossbars with a Yakima MightMounts adapter. No matter the shape of your Kayak the Mako Saddles

will flex form to the contours of the hull. With the Dyanflex rubber pads your Kayak is sure to stay put once secured using a Yakima Tie Down. We took the car and bolted custom rails onto the roof in which to place the Qtowers in and from there we were ready to mount our hardware to the newly formed rack and crossbars.

Yakima Installation

With the Yakima Tie Down you have the added safety of padded buckles, so you won’t suffer any possible damage to the body of the car or the Kayak itself. Also the hull of your Kayak is well

protected with Mako anti-scuff pads to provide protection.

Yakima Mako Saddles Installation

The boat will slide on and off easily and the tightening strap gives you complete control over the level of grip. You can alternatively take a Hullyroller as your second pair of mounting

brackets so that the boat can roll onto the roof of the car and sit on the Mako Saddles or purchase a second pair of Makos the choice is yours.

Yakima Mako Saddles Installation

With this product we can see that we have some options as to how we would like to store the Kayak on the roof of the vehicle as well as some useful options such as the tie down strap or SKS

locks to secure the boat and the saddles to the car.

At Rack Attack we provide a wide range of service for vehicle, most notably the ability to combine many products to get exactly the shape, size and fit you desire for your vehicle. For this particular combo we are demonstrating the Thule LB50 inch load bars, Thule 430R Rapid tracker foot pack and the Thule TK1 tracker kit 1.

Lexus ES 300 - Thule TK1 - Thule LB50 - Thule 430R

The customer that came into Rack Attack was looking for an installation on their Lexus ES 300; the first thing we had to do was install roof rails for the foot packs to fit into. The one thing about this procedure that I want to mention is that the car itself has a sunroof, so anyone out there looking for a roof rack and curious as to if you can fit one, the answer is yes.

Lexus ES 300 - Thule TK1 - Thule LB50 - Thule 430R

The kit is easy to install for this model as it comes handy with grey buttons for clip in and out access making it far easier to work with than the non clip on versions which can take up to 1.5 hours. This customer was looking for a rail system to carry Kayaks and as he already had the square bars he went with the Tk1 and 430R to save money.

Lexus ES 300 - Thule TK1 - Thule LB50 - Thule 430R

Lexus ES 300 - Thule TK1 - Thule LB50 - Thule 430R

Before I leave you with this I would also like to add that with a small service and installation fee you can get your licence plate mounted onto your rack and if you would also like we could hook up the wiring to your middle plate light and install another light on the bracket holding the plate to the rack. This of course works well for longer trips as you probably would not want to hassle with moving the plate off the rack and back onto the car repeatedly.
